Autumn Colourful...

travelling back from a Salmon Fishing break in Northumberland (he fished, I made Christmas Cards etc...Fabulous time was had by all - we did some walking and eating and drinking too as you do!) was very colourful, we saw so many beautiful views and the colours of the Autumn trees were amazing.  Short post to add this card to The Ribbon Girl October Colour Challenge.  Printed a  Pink Petticoat simple sentiment added a few memory box twig and leaves coloured in promarkers and some red Ribbon Girl top stitching thread to frame the whole... hope you like it...x

Top SECRET...Our daughter is nearly 40!

After a few weeks of extreme busyness helping out with the grandchildren (which I have loooved!!) I'm back on track.....I have been crafting (and baking, sewing and knitting - a little pink teddy!) but, not had chance to blog sooo,  here I am again with a card I have loved making for my beautiful daughter who is soon to be '40' and is having a 'sparkly' themed do (she won't see this blog I hope!! so no harm done..heehee) and I just know she and her 3 daughters will love it as much as I have enjoyed making it.

I just love black and white or white on white so decided to mix this with one of her delights... shoes!  Not sure I have captured the sparkle on the white section of the shoe which is dusted with glamour dust and looks very effective, the diamonte on the front is one I saved from of all things a bar of beautifully wrapped soap!

The shoe is a template which comes in pieces..afraid I cant remember offhand the site I bought this from but if anyone is interested in it I will certainly do my best to find some details as it comes in several pieces and you can alter the style of shoe, which I printed onto card and cut and pieced this shoe from inspire me embossed card.  The swirls are from a memory box die, ribbon saved from some packaging and the words are computer generated..Hope you love it as much as I do!  Inoticed Less is More is Lucky Dip week so....here goes although this doesn't meet the marriage I am changing the wording for this to be used as a wedding card in December which is a black and white theme and it does represent as it is LOVE I will put the words HAppy Ever After on the Wedding shoe card!( LIM may throw me out, but never mind the thought is there and I hope you enjoy!)

I shall happily hold the baby and the camera instead!!!  In the meantime a pretty little cute card..  which I have used for this challenge today ..made for a young lady who was leaving to have her first baby...a little different from the usual leaving cards and she loved it, vote of thumbs up from the grandaughters too, who left on my hearth overnight for who else but the 'hearth fairy' a shell filled with water a little note and some pretty bits and bobs she could use, she took them too and left a little glitter and a thank you note (stamped of course in fairyland!!) .....gorgeous, long may they be littlies as a friend always says..take a look she has some fabulous ideas and colourways and lots of 'littlies'. hope you like the card as much as my grandaughters and thank you for taking a peep..... Fairy by LoTV, tiny pompoms by Ribbon Girls, card coloured neutral thanks to PP along with the sentiments also by PP which I so love! Busy busy time in ouor house these past few weeks and more to come and loving every minute spent with my six gorgeous grandchildren off to play...........x

Grandaughters and 3 of a kind.....

for the LIM challenge this week with just one layer....inspired once more by the garden -lots of beautiful white and lavender colours at the moment which seem to be flourishing despite all the rain..helped me decide on a simple black and white theme!  Been deliciously busybusy busy this past couple of weeks with the grandchildren, we've cycled, tree trekking - not me I hasten to add but I did seriously think about it but only for a second..hee hee (however my daughter and her 2 eldest Elyssa aged 10yrs and Fay age 7yrs did it and they were amazing!!) what else have we done.... painted canvases, made dens with willow in the garden, walked, shopped (few long faces  but my daughter and I enjoyed it lol!!) outdoor theatre at a National Trust property, Zumba, swimming and lots more and more to come, had a few minutes to myself this afternoon so here is my quick offering for this weeks challenge..all computer generated - love playing around with these digi images and papers and these particular ones are (very) old favourites by Liz at PP I just added 3 little swarovski crystals to the three flowers a bit of glamour dust and a sentiment also by Pink Petticoat.  Enjoy...

Red and Yellow and a Dash of Blue

This one is for Make my Monday who are using the colour wheel's primary colours for their challenge inspiration this week and I'm back to butterflies as I have a friend who's birthday is coming up and she loves butterflies...sadly not seen many around this year with all the rain!  I simply used  my lovely butterfly embossing folder and an MB butterflies die cut - I think you can just make out that the lead butterfly is layered red & yellow beneath the white and I finished off with 3 blue swarovski crystals and clipped some red wire for the antennae, off to the supermarket now - a job I'm not too fond of but needs must on rare occassions, I much prefer the smaller shops and the farm shops like to think I'm helping them keep going before someone like Tesco's takes over the world........! Hope this cards brings a little bit of sunshine to one and all..................................x

Less is More

Sometimes it's about keeping things simple.....The concept of clean lines and clear and simple spaces can sometimes mean so much more when there are no extra's to draw the eye away.  For this card I have used some beautiful  PP Perfect Papers in shades of brown and cream ( although I think they look a little blue on this photo!) I just cut them to different lengths and shapes, taking the third top one over the edge to create a bit of dimension, the words ' Less is More' ( and that's also their challenge this week) are computer generated and cut with a circular punch, couldn't resist a tiny bit of bling though with the little topaz swarovski crystal.  Only a few more 'sleeps' till my daughter and 3 gorgeous grandaughters (aged 6, 7 and 10yrs) arrive from Dubai to stay with us for a few weeks...sadly not often we get all 6 grandchildren together, exciting and lots planned, including outdoor picnic and theatre show at a local National Trust Property (rain rain go away). I have explained to the girls they will only need swimwear, wellies and umbrellas!!!  They actually can't wait to dance in the rain and jump in puddles as they don't see rain throughout the year.....I told them....that's cos we have it all!!        Hope you like my card x

Flutterby...

thank you for fluttering on by....but such a shame the weather is still so cool and wet the garden is just waiting for some sunshine to bloom and blossom in full glorious colour....still I've had a lovely week making a couple of pots of old fashioned whole strawberry jam yummy...meeting up with friends and a little (!) shopping, think these colours must have stayed in my head as I bought a beautiful pink top and sparkly pink suede flip flops to match and a little cover up in a lovely shade of blue.  LIM Challenge this week is 'Something Shiny' sooooo...decided to make this simple colourful card for my niece who will soon have her 12th birthday.  Used up some scraps of Inspire me papers and a sizzix embossed butterfly (it cuts 5 butterflies including the tiny one on the wing and I love it!)  I also cut into a flourish memory box die to create the appearance of the silver curls peeing out from the 3 stripes of turquoise and the pink circle was cut with a stampin'up circle punch. Enjoy....x

Ribbons and Lace....

...that's the challenge over on Ribbon Girl this month so I thought I would try something new and different using my sewing machine instead of glues and tapes.  and this is the result of some machine sewing over pretty pink seam binding and pink and Ivory button twine twisted together all on a lace net background and resulting in some rather different flowers. I used a straight stitch on the ribbons and a small zig zag stitch over the twine.  The centre of the large flowere is button twine circled round and around and held down with some small zig zag stitches.  Now I'm off to visit a new to me centre in the countryside on this lovely sunny day and fingers crossed there'll be a craft shop too...not that I would dream of buying anything lol ! x

To Flourish.....

.... to grow well, luxuriant, thrive, dramatic or stylish movement, as of waving or brandishing, an embellishment or ornamentation: a signature with a distinctive flourish, that's the challenge at LIM#71 this week.  I thought initially a black and white theme for my card, but, after a trip down the garden on this beatiful hot summers day that magically happened today, to cut some of the first sweet peas the colours were so lovely I was inspired instead to make a colourful summery card.  I used a memory box die to cut the  flourish heart and laid it on the card at various angles within the piece of paper from which it was cut - this then acted as a sort of mask/template and I simply used cats eye ink pads to ink over the heart a sort of negative flourish effect was produced which I think is quite luxurious and stylish and very pretty...hope you like it too. x

Red White and Blue.........

The theme for this card is Red White and Blue from the challenge at LIM#70.  I created the flower and leaves from memory box dies which I then embossed with an embossing folder for texture and the stem is computer generated with words I identified as meaning something to me about the Diamod Jubilee - Elizabeth II, Jubilee, Family, friends.  To finish I put a small red swarovski jewel in the centre of the flower and a small red embossed butterfly on the tip of one of the leaves.
 Hope you like it x

Edgy card in dreamy shades of pink....

Inspired by the tiny vintage style jar (embellished with ribbon and button thread from Ribbon Girl) of flowers on my kitchen windowsill, I added some simple embroidery stitches (french knots) to the  flower stamps which were overlaid onto each other in shades to co-ordinate with the pink silk ribbon and threads I used for the embroidery.  I then cut around the flower shapes on the edge of the card to make an unusual shaped edge.  Card was first coloured with Natural Neutrals by Liz at Pink Petticoat in mushroom whisper and the inner of the card is sweet almond to add a bit more interest. I think my photos are improving too....I am putting this card in Ribbon Girl Challenge No 19 and LIM# 69 if I can find my way to doing it....!
