Spring has Sprung...

and we'regoing to make the most of it ...We're off for a beach walk with the grandchildren, wellies and all.

So a quick post for this weeks challenge over at LIM Spring Flowers...so here's my card I (2 actually as I am sending them to my Aunts for Easter).

They are both from one digi - which you can find here !

If you look closely at the flowers you can tell, I just enlarged an image and played around with it and copied and pasted a second image of the same enlargement (hope you understand) till it looked right and printed it out.

They are coloured with a variety of mediums mainly by stamping my ink pads onto my plastic craft sheet and using a small brush to paint and some touches with my promarkers, and a little bit of pearl cosmic shimmer on the boots to make them look old and like the sun is shining off them and to finish I added Glossy accents to a few of the flowers to make them pop.........Hope you like them, sorry about the reflection off the worktop....poetic licence haha! x

Tulips and bunnies...

I have at last found time after a busy couple of weeks to make a little dress with a hand emroidered flower, the inspiration for my card this week....

The challenge at LiM this week is yellow and green and I immediately thought of embroidering a little tulip, as I already had my thereads and needle out.....I have put it onto a background which I coloured in yellows and greens through a memory box mesh stencil, I then embossed freehand a box shape to complete the layered effect, the tag is computer generated with passionsconflict and satisfaction which makes a nice mix of fonts

Sorry not very good photos...!

The bunny dress is for a tiny 5" micro bunny my grandaughter loves and carries everywhere with her, she hasn't seen it yet, hope it fits and hope she likes it

One Layer and Anniversariy Love

This is my card for the LIM One layer challenge this week (must try to do better photography) Just love these stamps so thought I would try to link them together and this is what I came up with..I also love Orange and pink together and thought the copper embossing powder went well (I also added a little gold to the mix and it worked well coming up lovely and shimmery but not glittery as I wanted an old vintagy look) Although the card is one layer I tried to give a layered look by adding a couple of score lines and it seems to have worked

Thirteen....unlucky for some?  No not really, it's  the luckiest number ever we celebrated our 44th Wedding Anniversary on13th Feb!!

Just finished a 5k walk along the boardwalk near my daughters home in Dubai, and just about to sit down to a beer can chicken BBQ??!!

Had to show you a couple of  little photos too ....one of our lovely home made cake too courtesy of one of my grandaughters and her mum...yummy! And the other the fab ceiling at a local restaurant we went to for breakfast, its cups and saucers, teapots etc of varying shapes and sizes all made from card/paper and  suspended from the ceiling...I loved it....x

Rainbows and yumminess

they're so beautiful aren't they and that is just the theme for this weeks challenge over at LiM and I have made a CAS card using with great satisfaction the font of the same name I simply typed a few words about rainbow birthday wishes and used it as the background to the Rainbow Letters in their many colours a great way of using up many scraps of card and paper

A simple little sparkly swarovski crystal to finish......

Lots of birthdays this month, including my beautiful daughter in law Sarah...Present wrapped and a few paper feathers added along with a paper bow, looking good!

Off for afternoon tea now with some old friends from way back...............yummyliscious!

Inspiration...and a good spring clean

where do you find yours?  Inspiration that is, well this week of all places I found mine on the front of a magazine..am I allowed to say?  (shhh Ideal Home!)  what beautiful colour combinations lovely pastels and pale grey's and the highlight was in a pink circle which all combined to give me this idea and I'm a happy bunny with it.   It's going in this weeks LIM challenge here

I have put in a close up ...see below as the vellum circle is actually emossed with the word Bliss (stampin'up) in Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder -Arctic Pearl Lustre which has one of those shimmers that seem to pick  up the colour around it in this case it appears to be a pinky shade..I must invest in a true white embossing powder- any suggestions welcome! The lines are simply embossed as I wanted a clean and simple design

I am also trying to have a good clear out and sort my craft stuff....is it just me but I do seem to get easily side tracked and end up with just the same amount of stuff but in different places..I did manage to find some bits and bobs I thought were lost or taken by the fairies...and where on earth did those 20+pairs of scissors come from....aaah well I'll carry on my spring clean but looks like it's going to take me longer than I thought heehee!

Hearts....

And another challenge from LiM.....there's some lovely cards posted here if you would like to take a peek, my first card is two digi stamps overlapped and printed onto an A4 card folded to A5 to create the effect I wanted and embossed in a couple of places with the help of an embossing pen and wow cardinal red powder.  The second card is also a very simple heart digi printed onto a tall narrow card and the tiny heart heat embossed in wow cardinal red onto heavy creamy white cardstock, the words are my own computer generated....

I've made two simple CAS cards as I simply needed 2 Ruby Wedding Anniversary cards...and these are perfect!

PS don't you just love tulips....a reminder of Spring to come!

Just back from a lovely few weeks with the family in Dubai, they are also having strange weaather and we even had to wear pashminas or cardigans on occassion!!  The Fireworks were amaing and we had a birds eye view from the local beach!  Just lovely to be with the grandaughters!  And on our return we have had a Christmas weekend with our 3 grandchildren here, what more could a Grandma ask for ....
