There's a colour challenge over at Less is More using colours from your kitchen .....love it! Casology ...in a row and a birthday card for Addicted to stamps and Time out case this with a twist I knew immediately what I wanted to do....getting the stamping right and deciding how to put it together was the challenge.
My kitchen is simple high gloss units, all white walls and paintwork and black granite work tops, with my gorgeous pink tulip splash back...not everyone's cup of tea but I love it!
A lot of masking and placing followed, I have covered the flower strip with acetate to give the gloss effect and added a black strip for my work tops.... and this is what I came up with - unfortunately I didn't have a tulip stamp but I did have my gorgeous daisy stamp, poetic licence ha!

DeleteI am loving your classy, unique splashback Susan. In fact I've seen lots of them like this but wasn't brave enough or given the green light from the family last year when we were deciding what splashback! Your're super creative and love how you've interpreted it in your card. Absolutely beautiful and a perfect showcase of your kitchen. Great challenge combo too and thanks for playing along with us at Less is More this week. Sarah
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, glad you like, sometimes you have to just go with your instincts ......or I wouldn't have got my beautiful splash back haha (My family were shocked, but loved it once up on the wall) .....now I have a little bit of spring sunshine in my kitchen all year round

DeleteWell done with your masking, you've done it perfectly and love how you didn't colour all the flowers as well. Its a very stylish birthday card and a wonderful CASE of Therese's card too. So glad you could join us at both TIME OUT and ATSM!!
ReplyDeleteLoving that splashback, tulips are my favourite so it gets a huge thumbs up from me! I love how you selected to colour just a couple of flowers, really effective panel.
